The Hilton Hotel Liverpool was the venue once again for our annual Carvers Lunch. Over 280 guests attended and were treated to a sumptuous three course meal with the highlight being the traditional carving of the turkey by a volunteer on each table. The Carver was provided with an apron monogrammed with the Charity’s logo, a Chef’s hat and each was treated to a tot of brandy for their efforts.
The afternoon was hosted by comperes Jamie Sutherland and Pete Emmett who introduced local comedians Jack Ryan and Denny Waters. Pauline Daniels achieved a standing ovation with her slot which featured her rendition of Send in the Clowns.
The afternoon was punctuated with fabulous raffles together with auctions of items not normally available to purchase provided by Impulse Decisions. One of the highlights of the day was the raffle for a diamond pendant valued at £1500 kindly donated by David Search Jewellers of Southport.
The afternoon was brought to a close by the entertainer Paul McCoy who conducted a singalong which included old favourites such as Sweet Caroline.
The afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended with compliments all round for a very successful day.
