Every December the Children’s Charity Merseyside, with the help and support of the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool One, host a Christmas party for 90/100 local school children. This takes place from 11.00am to 2.00pm. The schools are chosen from the Merseyside area, in particular those school who may not receive any help from charities such as ours.
The children are from the reception classes and are accompanied by their teachers. The Hilton always rolls out the red carpet for the children and the staff go out of their way to welcome the children, including Marcus, the manager!
A sit-down lunch is provided and the children are served by the Hilton staff.
Entertainment is provided by a fabulous local guy , Mr Styx, and also Father Christmas is there to welcome the children on arrival and always joins in the dancing. Some of the trustees have also been known to join in!
At the end of the party the children are given a substantial goody bag to take home from Father Christmas.
Watching these children having such a good time is so heart warming for all the Trustees. Some children may tell us that it is the first Christmas party they have attended, or they have been on a bus/train for the first time.
We have tears in our eyes when the children are all saying thank you to Father Christmas and wishing us all a happy Christmas.
This party is only possible because of the amazing generosity of our supporters. I wouldn’t miss it for the world!

Donations of Selection Boxes and toys that were not used at the Christmas Party were donated to St Lawrence School. They were very appreciative of our donation.
