Wonderland Retreat

New Heights School has officially unveiled its new ‘Wonderland Retreat’, a themed reading and wellbeing space funded by Children’s Chairity Merseyside. Trustees Jim, Eileen and Katie visited the school recently to see the completed project.

Designed and furnished by staff, the room brings Alice in Wonderland to life, offering pupils a creative and calming environment in which to relax and reflect.

Two pupils opened the room to be welcomed by Alice and the Mad Hatter. The pair performed aspects of the classic story, adding a touch of magic and excitement for the children.

During the visit, the Boards outlined the reasons behind the room and how the space is expected to benefit pupils across the school.

The Co-Headteacher said they were very appreciative for the support received, emphasising that the retreat will make a significant difference to many children, particularly those with special educational needs.

We hope the new facility will become a great asset in supporting pupil wellbeing for years to come.
