December 2024 Activities

December started with our annual Children’s Christmas Party held at the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool.

Pupils from Arnot St Mary’s and Holy Cross Schools enjoyed entertainment by Mr Stix, joining in with the magic tricks, singing and dancing.

Each child was given a ‘goody bag’ by Father Christmas.

Thank you received from teacher Ms Cavanagh, one child saying; ‘So much fun, didn’t want to go home’.

Carvers Lunch

Our Annual Fundraising Carvers Lunch was again very well supported, those attended were entertained by two comedians, and singer guitarist Paul McCoy.

After lunch, auction and raffle, and our guest speaker was ‘Chaser’ Paul Sinha, who gave us a precis of his life story to date, he received a standing ovation at the end of his speech, he also gave his time to those who wanted to be photographed with him.

We are grateful to everyone who attended those who generously donated auction and raffle prizes, your support is very much appreciated and enables us to bring a smile to the children of Merseyside.

Entertainment in Schools

Eileen and Katie were present when Children’s Entertainer Mr Stix ably assisted by Peanut, attended Broad Oak and St Thomas and St Mary’s schools to entertain approximately 700 hundred children over 4 performances.  All the children and Teachers joined in the singing and dancing.

There were lots of shouts and screams as he performed his magic tricks and a stunned silence when Pater the Rabbit appeared by magic.

Feedback from teachers was positive, for some of the children, this was their first party, the children asking if they could watch him again.

Eileen and Katie also visited OWW children’s party, a lovely atmosphere, the children enjoying lunch and party games.  They were very appreciative of the donation of toys and gifts for the children.

Matalan

Through our website, we were contacted by Matalan Distribution Centre, Knowlsey Industrial Estate, Team Leader Marianna Koltowska asking if we would accept Christmas toys and gifts.

The staff had been donating money to a fund, the proceeds had been used to purchase the toys and gifts for children.

We were delighted to accept their offer, Mandy and husband collected them and met some of the employees.

The gifts were given to St Mary’s & St Paul’s, Prescot, St Ambrose, Speke and Kirby C of E Schools.

They were very well received by staff at the schools.

The generosity of Matalan Staff brought a smile to the faces of lots of children at Christmas.

A donation has also been received from staff at Artifix, Halewood, colleagues raised the funds by holding raffles and coffee mornings. Many thanks to them for choosing CCM to receive the proceeds.
